Suicide Awareness and Prevention Coalition

September is suicide awareness and prevention month and the Manistee County Suicide Awareness and Prevention Coalition once again are sponsoring some events. This year is the 3^rd annual suicide awareness and prevention art contest. This event is open to any community member who wishes to participate. We have some wonderful prize donations this year and will be showcasing the art from the contest throughout the downtown area in Manistee during the month of September….Deadline to have projects in is August 27, 2021. The coalition is also sponsoring a suicide awareness and prevention walk on September 28^th at the Lions Pavilion at First Street Beach. There will be food, motivational speakers and swag to take home along with the walk around the beach area.  More details will be coming soon on the walk.

The coalition will also be purchasing a billboard to be placed in our community providing a message of hope along with the National Suicide Prevention Line information.
